The Seattle Seahawks drafted Shaun Alexander in 2000 is a first-round, 19th overall pick after spending his college career with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The running back had a great yet relatively short NFL career spending 8 seasons in Seattle, then moved to the Washington Redskins for less than a season before eventually retiring in 2008.
Alexander played in 3 Pro Bowls and was named NFL MVP in 2005, leading the league in rushing yards once and rushing touchdowns twice in his career.
Top Cards
Alexander was mainly limited to cameo appearances in his rookie years as the Seahawks attempted to blood him into the league. He played in all 16 games but started just 1, managing 313 yards and two touchdowns from 64 attempts.

- Best Shaun Alexander Rookie Card: 2000 Shaun Alexander SP Authentic RC #140
The back end of Shaun Alexander’s career kind of fizzled out after such a tumultuous few years in which he conquered all before him, and it is probably because of this fizzling out that he has not yet been nominated to the Hall of Fame.
If Alexander does not receive this honor, and with every year that passes it looks less likely, his rookie card value may suffer. He probably did enough during his career to ensure there will be no cliff edge for the value to fall off, but the potential for increase is also limited.
