UPDATE DEC 2021 – PRO TIP FOR GETTING ACTIVE PLAYERS CARDS BACK IF IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR: We don’t 100% blame Panini as I THINK they do their best to get the players to sign the cards but some may let them sit for a while, a long while. TIP: if you are waiting on a current player and it has been more than one year write to the owner of the team i.e. We had a few extremely high dollar Luka Doncic RC auto/patch and were not getting them back so we email Mr. Cuban a very nice email explaining the situation. Now he never responded BUT funny enough the cards came within a week (maybe 10 days) of sending that email. Owners’ contact information is usually easy to find but be nice and rational when emailing them. Some like Cuban would def be more proactive especially if you approach him correctly. Can’t say all team owners would be as cool as Cuban but it’s worth a try. This has worked for us in the past but obviously, no guarantees.

Panini Redemption Update 9/29/2021: Panini says it will “continue to fulfill expired redemptions if we still have the actual card in stock; for cards that are no longer in stock, collectors will continue to receive 50 percent value in Panini Rewards Points as determined by Panini.”. We just received a Shaq card back last month but still have a handful of cards pending with Panini over 3 years old.

*Panini Redemption Update 10/01/2020: We have not received any of our redemptions since our last update (3/25/2020) and customer service refuses to provide an answer… we have around 20 redemptions pending with them… we encourage anyone who has been screwed by these guys to join the Panini Redemption class-action lawsuit.

WHAT’S GOING ON WITH PANINI REDEMPTION CARDS?

Before we get into the controversy and the lawsuit it caused, let’s cover some basic background. Panini America is a U.S.-based subsidiary of the Panini Group, based in Modena, Italy. Founded in 1961, this global company has over 1000 employees, $640 million in annual revenue, and is one of the biggest players in the global sports trading card market. Today, they make some of the best high-end collectible cards.

Redemption cards are a contentious issue when it comes to sportscard collecting. To have signed cards available for sale, trading card companies have to send the cards to athletes to be signed. When the players don’t sign the cards in time or don’t send them back to the company, playing card companies don’t want to give up the revenue, so they insert IOUs called Redemption Cards into their packs. Sometimes these cards are redeemed for the real card quickly, but sometimes it can take years. Even worse, in some cases, the card you get can be a different card that’s less rare and less valuable than the one you’ve been promised.

 

WHAT’S THE CONTROVERSY?

The law firm of Martzell, Bickford & Centola has filed a class-action suit alleging that Panini America hasn’t been fulfilling its redemption cards or honoring its promises to consumers. Lawyer Michael Roche hired the firm to file the suit on behalf of Panini America customers who tried to have their redemption cards fulfilled but didn’t receive their promised memorabilia, even in the extremely wide 4 to the 8-month delivery window.

Not only are the cards not being sent to customers on time, but Panini doesn’t actually guarantee the exact card or even the same player promised by a redemption card. They reserve the right to replace the promised card with a “comparable” card, with little detail on what they consider comparable (more on this later).

Mr. Roche claims to have knowledge of collectors who have many unfulfilled redemptions. Some collectors have been waiting up to 2 years without receiving promised cards, more than 3 times the maximum wait promised by Panini America. Even worse, when replacement cards are sent, the cards are apparently of far lower value than the ones promised by the redemption cards.

As a result of these anti-consumer behaviors, Panini America is being sued in accordance with the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, as well as a variety of other state laws.

 

PANINI’S SIDE OF THE STORY

In defense of Panini, we understand that signed cards aren’t entirely under their control. Sometimes players take longer than planned to return the signed cards and sometimes they just don’t sign as many as promised. There are factors that Panini can’t control. Also, the policy of compensating customers with “comparable” cards is, in theory, a nice thing to do to make sure that customers aren’t left with nothing when an athlete doesn’t honor his or her commitments to signing cards. With official wait times of 4 to 8 months, it seems Panini recognizes the logistical difficulties of the situation.

 

WHAT DO UNBIASED 3 RD PARTIES HAVE TO SAY?

With Panini and the customers suing each disagreeing over where the blame lies, we turned to other parties not involved in the suit to get other perspectives on the story. Unfortunately for Panini, what we found doesn’t cast them in a very good light. An article on ripoffreport.com seems to echo many of the claims made by the people suing Panini. The writer of the report in question says he knows that Panini says that athletes, not signing cards are the reason for delays and substitutions, but he goes on to question that excuse, as he’s been waiting 15 months for his redemption card to be fulfilled. He notes that as Panini makes these claims, “new cards are released in different forms, many of which are autographed by that same star in question.” The writer points out that these issues seem to happen most often with the most valuable cards and concludes that “Panini is using excuses that are completely invalid.”

Another take on this issue comes from Sal Barry at puckjunk.com. In a story that’s becoming more and more familiar as we look into the Panini redemption card controversy, Mr. Barry pulled an Akim Aliu rookie card redemption card from a Panini pack and waited 4 years without receiving anything from Panini. He had to launch a social media effort to publically get Panini’s attention before he finally received a card. He says that “what disappoints me, though, is that if I hadn’t been a borderline pest on Twitter, nothing would have come of this.”

However, rather than the very valuable card from a 7 card set promised by the redemption card, Mr. Barry received a replacement from a hundred card set for a much less valuable and less popular player. Sadly, this seems all too common.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU’VE BEEN AFFECTED by Panini Redemption?

Here at Gold Card Auctions, we’re card experts, not legal ones, so we don’t know how this lawsuit will shake out, but if you’ve had issues with Panini sending you lower value cards or not sending you cards at all, it’s possible you may be able to join the lawsuit against them.

We received this comment below in regards to the case:

We filed a class action against Panini for its failure to honor the redemptions. We originally filed the class action in February 2019 and under the Class Action Fairness Act in federal court in Texas.

The Class Action Fairness Act requires that the case be over $5 million for the federal court to have jurisdiction. In March 2019, Panini filed a motion with the federal court asking that the court dismiss our class action. Panini argued that the federal court did not have jurisdiction because the case was not over $5 million. Panini also argued that the class members did not have a cause of action because 1.) the lack of redemption is the fault of the athlete who will not timely sign the card; and 2.) Panini does not guarantee that there is an autographed card in the sealed package, the purchaser buys the package anyway, and so the purchaser is getting what they paid for.

We do not agree with Panini’s analysis and we filed an opposition to the motion to dismiss. In May 2020, the federal court finally ruled on the motion, after it was under submission for over a year. The federal court determined that it did not have jurisdiction because there is no proof that the case is over $5 million.

We will re-file the lawsuit in Dallas state court where there are no issues over jurisdiction. We expect that Panini will file the same motion to dismiss arguing that it cannot be at fault because it does not promise that an autograph redemption will be in every package.

However, with their real, printed cards, we don’t see the loss of value as they’re still some of the rarest and most sought after cards on the market.   1. Has anyone had any luck with there older redemption cards. I have 6 cards that are from 2011 and 2012 that are still ” in progress” and have had 0 luck ever getting a hold of paying. Can anyone help

    • I had multiple redemptions from 2011/-2013. Robert Emmrich gave me Panini points for them. Though I heard he is no longer in that position…. I am not sure who to contact.

  3. Considering I redeemed a Drew Lock RC auto out of Contenders that’s selling for $600 and up, and there are live copies all over eBay yet I’ve been waiting over 6 months and can’t get a hold of anyone, I would say that you made a mistake

  5. Been waiting 2 years for my card… Tried calling hundreds of times (never reached anybody). Nobody has responded to my “responses” on the customer support website. I emailed Emrich and now Chase and Emily. Definitely VERY frustrated with this company.

  6. EVERYONE here should join in on the class action lawsuit v. Panini America. Make them answer for their deceptive business practices. Get what you paid for. Hold Paninis feet to the fire. Let Panini know that a monopoly on the market does not mean they can get away with short changing their customers. Enough is enough.

  7. Its been a year for me waiting on 4 Rookie Jumbo Patch Auto’s out of Origins Football. Crazy…I wouldn’t consider a redemption worth anything at this point. What a bummer

  8. I currently have 17 redemptions pending, most of them in the 12-24 month range. Emailed for replacements in January and was told 4-6 week wait to swap them out. Late August, still 17 outstanding and no sign of movement.

  9. Due to the current pandemic, we have a backlog of redemptions that we are working through and are currently unable to provide specific updates on redemption and replacement requests. Please note that if your redemption has already reached 120 days and you have requested replacement, we will handle your request in the order in which it is received. Your redemption will be replaced with an equal value card from the same sport as your redemption and is determined by current Beckett values or ebay sales if a Beckett value is not available.

    Using covid as the excuse meanwhile new products and redemptions are being put out on the market. They’re knowingly releasing these products with a backlog of unsatisfied customers. Shame on Panini. It’ll catch up when this class action lawsuit comes to fruition.

    • Hey, has anyone had this problem? My redemption is GONE from their web site?! I paid $10k on eBay for it, entered the code a few weeks back, and it’s not there! This actually happened this spring and it was a tech glitch on their end, apparently, and Robert at Panini helped get it solved. But that was for a MUCH cheaper card, and now I’m in a serious panic…and nobody has yet gotten back to me! Thanks

  11. The class action lawsuit v panini america is really gaining steam. There are groups on Facebook in which most if not all members have joined in. Panini us going to have to answer to their customers for lack of customer service, quality assurance and a failure to deliver on its advertised promises of redemption fulfillment. Its not too late to join, if you’ve been spurned by Panini.

  12. Their redemption program SUCKS!!!! You WILL be lucky if you ever get your card back signed, seriously! I’m doing another test, hoping I’m wrong/mistaken. I sent a Judge Auto redemption card in a month ago and hoping I get it back signed, but my guess is no I won’t. They will probably end up providing me with their lousy A** 150 points to purchase something from their lousy site. Have you ever attempted emailing them or even calling them. lolololololololololol. Their customer service absolutely SUCKS almost as bad as their redemption program. i wonder how many folks work there, I’m thinking no more than 3. Of course, they blame everything that’s going on with them on the fricken pandemic, whatever. Just like everyone else is doing because of lousy customer service…everyone is blaming their crummy service due to the COVID crap. Total BS! oh while I’m on it, another company that is right up there with this place is PSA (but that’s another story). Both of these companies ought to be put out of business. Off my soap box.

    • Hell, I agree. I haven’t had any businesses dealings with PSA, but panini is a shit company. I cant wait until this classaction lawsuit gets underway. Currently the law firm is collecting evidence (more) and compiling a list of issues well over $5 million USD that panini has failed to supply to customers. Panini is screwed. There really isn’t a way out for them- unless they declare bankruptcy, but even then i think they would have to pay off their classaction judgement when it comes…i have almost 30 open redemptions over 19 months old now. Can’t get ahold of “customer service”, no response via email. But hey- they can put out half assed products every other week and upcharge a stupid amount for sticker autos…of the same players im waiting on redemptions for. Fuck panini.

      • Al, I finally got ahold of a ‘real’ person at Panini, ’cause I hit the online sales number. Travis answered in 2 rings. He provided me with 3 phone numbers (of course, that didn’t work), and also the emails of 3 folks (Emily, Chase, Cody). I did receive an email pretty quick from Cody who said the same exact thing about wait 120 days and email back to receive a comparable card. By the time I receive the comparable card the player will have retired and the card will be worthless. We’ll see what happens at the end of 120 days. I also asked about a replacement card that was due to me back in 2012, they gave me 150 of their lousy ass Panini points. I looked at some of their pitiful cards that you can buy for points and they all suck the big one! Now their products are so fricken expensive, who the hell can afford to buy them. The Donruss football boxes just came out and I gagged over the price. Like you stated above – Fuck panini!

  13. I have at least 15 cards they have failed to redeem, a couple #/5. They go back as far as 2014-15. Thing that pisses me off the most is the same players have cards signed and are in product after my redemptions. So they pick and choose who they want to redeem. Redemptions should be outlawed, the hobby is getting expensive without knowing what you’re gonna hit in a box. Then you hit a big name but its a redemption you cant get. Or you buy an older hobby box and get an expired redemption, just as bad.. No more Redemptions!!!!

  14. Why should people have to reach out though? Shouldn’t Panini be reaching out to its customers? The problem is that they do not care!! and until they do I’m collecting Baseball and UFC cards from Topps. People need to stop buy panini products until they change their attitude towards customers.

  15. A few years ago I had a Kobe /10 auto redemption. After about a year of waiting I saw the exact card pop up on Twitter by some guy thanking panini csm for their help. I reached out to the guy and was told he was issued the card (I was waiting for) as a replacement for a different kobe auto. When I questioned panini I was told “too bad as your redemption had expired”

  16. I have been waiting almost 4 years for 8 Kevin Durant redemptions finally he signed 38 different redemptions but none of the cards of mine but yet he signed cards in 2020 products for panini it’s BS

  18. I’ve been waiting since the end of Feb for 3 of my redemptions. What I dont understand is that 1 of them is not even an auto it’s a glass rj barret card case hit from absolute. Like what can possibly be the problem there? Nit like they have to chase rj down to sign it smh.The other 2 are vets. Anthony Davis and durant.. I’ve called over 100 times emailed atleast 40 and Twitter a few times on top of that. You would think someone would of got back to me? Sadly not the case whatsoever. Very unprofessional. I here this happening way to much mainly from panini. If they dont start fulfilling orders it will be very hard to keep customers.

  23. How about the 2012 National Treasures Probowl Letterman “case hit” set? Not redemptions, but the set was supposed to be autographed and panini inserted them w/out autographs, I still got the unsigned Tony Gonzalez I pulled lol

  28. They aren’t just screwing people on redemptions. They are screwing people on specific cards being sold directly from the Panini America website, which completely circumvents their argument made during the federal lawsuit. I ordered Antonio Gibson 2020 NFL Instant #134 Base Card SKU: FB20-PI-0134-B1 on 12/1/2020. The system cut off my street from the shipping and billing address (which is not how I submitted it… believe me, my credit card company would not have allowed billing without complete information) and it never came. The confirmation of the order looks really jacked up like they have a screwed up tracking system, and when I went on the website to look for the order by number, it said it doesn’t exist. I e-mailed about joining the lawsuit.

  30. I have a lot of pending redemptions. The timely longest one i’m waiting is a Doron Lamb Auto from the 2012 Crusade series (i redeemed this card on Dezember 7th 2013), The most amazing thing is that Panini produces new cards or series year per year and the same players are signing new cards instead of signing the older ones they have to (as promissed with the redemptions cards). I’m waiting since three years for cards of the NT Series Soccer. Some of them are really low numbered (d’5 / d’8 and d’10). All of them are autographed cards! Not understandable is that players sign cards for the mentioned series and they don’t do for other cards from the same series. This is really not understandable and proofs that Panini is not telling the truth. Example: I’m waiting for a 2018 Panini National Treasures International Treasures Material Autographs Bronze Gianluigi Buffon d’10 since July 12th 2018. They have some signed cards from a parallel set from this series. As a proof you can check the following ebay auction: item 372717487514 it’s from the same series but from a other parallel set (Colossal Set). Why can they have signed sets or cards and they don’t have them from other parallel series in the same set or release? This is just not logical and proofs that they are lying! I’m waiting as well for cards from the following players: Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy, Marco Verratti. They have signed a lot of cards sind 2018 and so it’s clera: Panini is unreliable and lying!

  32. I don’t understand why the law suit never mentions the perceived value of a particular product was taken into account when setting the manufacturer pricing. Therefore, the practice is fraudulent and deceptive because the price of the pack/box/case of said product is generated with the possibility of finding an autograph of Player XYZ, when in reality those claims are false. It’s like winning the jackpot in a lottery only to find out the prize money is not actually not available, far less than the jackpot advertised, or the pay out will be paid when available without a definitive date. Would it be illegal then?

I have been waiting on a Shai Gilgeous auto since 18-19 from the obsidian line, tried contacting panini about the status of my redemption card as there were 2020 auto’d cards of Shai Gilgeous in there new sets. I asked how it is that you can get those signed but not the ones from the previous year that many customers are waiting on. Typical Panini no response email or anything. They sure love to take our money but give zero shits about customer service.

  34. panini is good ……. what you guys are saying. don’t you know its a pandemic…. of course it may take longer you gotta give them a chance and of course its up to the player they have to wait for them to sign it…. please note that cards that are won via redemption especially the ones that have real signature and not sticker signature or jerzey patches are basically made to order. the moment you place scratch the surface to get your redemption number than they have to have the player sign the thing and get back the card…. if you guys having trouble understanding…. go watch a youtube video of them making a card (especially the video with the signed auto card from an actually hockey stick

    • I lost brain cells reading this John, that might be the most asinine thing I’ve heard about redemptions. The cards are sent to the players to sign BEFORE THE PRODUCT RELEASES. Not after the redemption is submitted

    • Yeah this stuff has been going On way before the pandemic.. So if they feel they can get 100 signed in 9 years.. put 100 in boxes not 1000. Panini got greedy bit off more then they can chew if you ask me. They probably got a vault of Luka and Giannis RC autos in there attic..

    • People have redemptions from 2011, how would the pandemic affect those? And why is it ok for panini to give way less value when they do finally replace it. Panini sucks, their customer service sucks, and other card companies aren’t having problems like this, ya corporate stooge.

  35. Look at all the Trevor Lawerwnce Redmeption cards being sold on eBay for 30k to 50k. There’s no way in hell I would chance thousands of dollars with Panini Redemption cards. I’ve had 6 cards sent for redemption going on 2 years now, and havent received the first card. Panini could care less what a person pays for the Redemption card.

  36. I have been waiting over a year for my purple obsidian fernando tatis jr. auto ! They know the values of these cards and thats why i believe a lot of us will never see them! Panini has done nothing for me just trying to get me to take a “random” replacement! If panini is truly waiting for cards to be signed why are there set lists and odds on the boxes/packs of pulling these cards? I think PSA or some other 3rd party company should have to see some proof of the card, set/declare a value of the card or even hold the cards themselves in order for any redemption card bs to go in a pack ! I also think the windows for receiving the cards are too big. You could pull a redemption while the player is hot and upcoming and then not receive the card until a year later and he had been released for the league or has a career ending injury! Its all a big scam so panini can keep money in their pocket and send their customers on a wild goose chase! Sign me up for the lawsuit or better yet lets just take what is ours and storm the panini headquarters !

    • We have a love-hate relationship with these redemptions as you usually can get the redemption on ebay much cheaper vs the value of the actual card BUT it takes forever to receive…sometimes the player just takes forever to sign the card so in all cases it isn’t always Panini fault..

      Wendell we suggest writing to the Padres owner or head office… we have done that with a few players and it seemed like it actually got done most of the time.

  38. I redeemed a Ripken auto back in February 2020. Since May 2020, I’ve seen at least 6 redeemed versions on eBay. Makes zero sense.

  39. Honestly are we going to see our redemptions? I’ve been blasting them everyday on Twitter to get some kind of response since we can’t call, text, email, he’ll pony express would be faster!! We spend hard earned money on a stupid redemption card because they can’t collect a signature but need to stay on schedule with there releases….. seems like they need a different process or a major lawsuit to wake there Asses up!!

    • Hey Jeff, what we have done and had some luck with is contacting the team owner, PR, or management. We have done this via email a few different times and on at least 3 occasions the cards definitely saw movement. Just email the team’s PR staff explaining the situation. It’s not always Panini’s fault as players take a long time to sign the cards. This is pretty much the only way we have had any luck on tough moving redemtions.

  40. Damn why didnt i read this 2 weeks ago, i just bought a 2020 contenders optic p o y auto russell wilson /15 off ebay, i already submitted the code as well as 4 others i pulled from packs the wilson is the only one of value, i hope i get my cards.

    • Hey Matt we have had good luck with the 2 Russel Wilson redemptions we had as it seems he signs pretty quickly, we got them back in 10 and 12 weeks.

  41. Finally, the first person I have seen say this. And you are exactly right. Unless this is done soon there will be no card hobby left. May take a few years but they will ruin the hobby. I have spent a great deal of time researching all of this and I’ve watched as it has already begun unfolding and this goes well beyond panini. This whole industry is going down. The major rise is one of the largest indicators. I suggest trying to look into the actual cause of the rise and it’s not the pandemic. This will continue bc they know that no other card company provides the quality cards that panini does. Or let me rephrase “does with DID”. They know consumer’s have little options for shopping around. So they think that collectors will put up with it bc really the only other option is to stop buying. They are using the death of Kobe as an excuse for the thousands of other cards that remain “unsigned” from other athletes. I think most ppl understand why they won’t receive the Kobe redemption. However this is about the thousands of other athletes that continue to put out cards in countless other products that panini sells long after unfulfilled redemptions. The newest terms say they max the value of redemptions at $1,000 value. It’s funny bc in the same breath they are selling “signed” nft cards from various athletes for thousands up to and over half a million on block chain. Yet can max the value on a redemption at 1,000$. They are ruining the hobby and this is just one of the many things that are going on. Put it all together. Pushing consumer’s away while they line their pockets as much as possible untill eventually ending in a complete boycott or crash of the hobby. Keep in mind some ppl use this hobby as retirement and I understand you enter at ur own risk but when the company is creating unnecessary Inflation and purposefully misleading consumer’s for their own gain out of pure greed it is a disgrace. Unfortunately most will not know enough to sell before this all locks in and will lose tremendous amounts of money. Inflation will always be there but what they are doing is beyond normal business practices. It is greed. When the collector is no longer putting the value on the item and the very company that sells the product starts to value the product beyond the collector this creates major Inflation. Then factor in a fake influx of “collectors” and “rise” in value based off of this. Then new ppl will join the hobby based off of this baseless information which will create the need for a crash. Because you will have more selling then buying. Simple economics. It’s the new type of Ponzi scheme with a twist. They LITERALLY turned the market into the definition of a PONZI SCHEME and then added a few extra snarky businesses practices to benefit even further. Redemptions were them dipping their feet in to see what they could get away with. And now they have created a whole fake market based on nothing . How about this one Scalpers THAT WORK FOR THE COMPANY jacking blaster boxes up to hundreds , clearing shelves to attract new buyers thinking the market is on fire. Panini claiming they don’t actually Gaurntee any signed autos on the box so therefore the consumer DOES actually get what they receive!!? That’s literally them admitting to ripping off consumer’s and what did the federal government do? They passed the buck and turned a blind eye to it. So they continue and now they think it’s legal. Well I guess in a sense it is just not for the average Joe. If people really knew just how dirty this hobby has gotten, there would be no one left. It’s worse than the stock market bc to panini the Government just gave them the ok and really, there’s no regulations .At least if there is, it’s not in the consumers interest that much is clear. It’s become a casino. And the house always wins. It’s like buying a lottery ticket thinking the odds are 1 in 2 and then finding out after you bought it there’s actually 1 in 300 odd of getting a “prize”. There’s a reason the wording on the back of the box/pack says “odds of finding per pack” .Then when they can’t get anymore money out of it they will sell the company off or beging to slowly create a market crash. Either way the crash will happen just depends on when ppl realize what’s actually happening. There is so much more to this industry than the average collector realizes. It’s very dirty and there’s much more going on then I have stated. Some corporate guru somewhere realized this is one of the few untouched markets left and saw a hidden gold mine. It was bound to happen I suppose.

    • Al, interesting to say the least… in a tight summary why do you think the card market is finished?

      Our take: the card market is not finished. Although it appears the best cards are starting a rebound don’t be fooled as we will know much more in a few months when the FEDS cut off the money printing machines. We expect another dip but not a crash (although a crash could happen). If we can survive the Fall of 2021 we feel a new upward trend starts in winter 2021/2022. cheers!

I had a sheet written down somewhere a few years ago, with at least 100 “open” requests-some with several redemptions in the same request-dating back to 2010, when Panini started up, taking over Donruss, Score, Playoff, Hoops/Skybox and using their name on other defunct companies’ old popular products from the 90’s (Pacific Crown Royale, Select Certified…). So, back then I had well over a hundred unfulfilled players’ Rookie autographs-some worth a LOT if the card were to be actually produced (2014 Prizm Baseball Finite Black RC Dual Auto 1/1 a great example). Or the several Vkadimir Tarasenko Rookie Autographs that, at the time-I was thrilled to pull. Waited years on them and many other hockey cards and now, I suppose they don’t feel the obligation to-and maybe they’re exempt from having to-without the “exclusive” right to produce NHL cards anymore (why one company is granted a monopoly on an entire sport’s card production is a whole other issue, but the worst thing to ever happen for the Hobby–>even overtaking the “junk wax” bubble that they and Topps are apathetic to bursting again.
    It is time-consuming (likely on purpose) to access your account’s still pending redemptions, but getting a list printed out of every redeemed request yet to be fulfilled asap is a good idea. Taking their offer of rewards points has yet to be reflected on many cards when I tried that. And their rule of 1/2 the value on old redemptions needs to be addressed, as at the time they were entered, the codes to many of these decade+ old requests were entered PRIOR to their expiration date. But, in total-I estimated well over $10k in value of cards that if received (I am a Power Seller on eBay, specializing in the sale of professionally Graded sports cards), with that value jumping astronomically if taking into consideration the probability that many of these cards would have been received, sent into & received back already by a company such as PSA or BGS for grading, and their final value-especially amidst the current CoVid-assisted boom in sports cards & memorabilia interest, value, and sales—–>Panini owes a lot more than many probably realize. I’d like to be of any help in assisting with this lawsuit, as I predicted a major uproar over this years ago, and have plenty to be upset with in my own right!

I bought a black diamond act like it was football from panini and I hid under Jefferson a Redemption card Justin Jefferson to Science Hill rookie card it’s been over a year close to a year I still haven’t received it I paid like $300 for like five or six cars I believe and when I send the Redemption back they sign for it and never got nothing I tried calling and leaving messages don’t get no call backs don’t get nothing it’s frustrating and you know it’s aggravating you get aggravated when you spend that much money on something you can’t get the card

If someone could direct me in the right direction to call somebody to speak to someone about my Redemption card I really would appreciate it I’ve been collecting all my life I’m 47 years old in you know it’s a part of you spend a lot of money on something you know when you get something you want your you don’t even want you to meet your collectibles

  45. I am waiting on a lamelo a joe burrow and a Ja’mar chase I am now wondering if I will ever see any of them after reading all this. the burrow has been over 5 months Panini has never picked up the phone has never returned a call or answered a question or email…

  46. Just now hit a year waiting for a Juan Soto 2020 Absolute /99 signature. Not a life changing card, but it would be nice for occasional updates. Sent 3-4 messages to customer support over the past 6 months. Nothing.

  47. in 2012, i purchased a case of 2011 playoff contenders hockey from Blowout cards. the case hit was a quad Auto booklet of Ryan Johansson, Ryan Callahan, Tim Erixon and jeff Carter. not a drop dead, spectacular card but not ever pulling/owning a book card before, i would have really loved to have gotten it? after 10 years and the same email address, ive never, ever recieved a response from Panini? i have continuously contacted, emailed and phoned them dozens upon dozens of times and not even an offer of Panini rewards? im not losing my mind over this card however, the one that truly makes me is a redemption i pulled from 2013 Panini Rookies and Stars, team chemistry, Red, dual Auto /5 of Andrew Luck and Reggie Wayne? this could have easily been a 4 figure card pre retirement but now that Andrew Luck has been retired for 5 years now, its not even really worth persuing anymore? literally makes me sick and i would still love to have an Andrew Luck Autograph?

  48. I’ve been waiting for an Andrew Benintendi Rookie Auto/Jersey for over three years. The redemption phone line is NEVER answered and they never return calls. What upsets me most is that they were distributing new Benintendi autos in 2019, so they had the auto to make my card when I submitted in May 2018 and just didn’t do it. I have two others from two years ago that I asked for replacements for, and they still haven’t sent me anything. I’ve put in ten redemptions this year, and don’t expect to see any of them anytime soon.

  49. I’m waiting on a LaMelo Ball Donruss Rookie Signatures card I entered approx. 9 months ago. I have not received a single response to my kind emails nor have they ever answered the phone when I call.

  50. Still have around 45 redemtions to receive from Panini which were all submitted 2011 to 2013.a few exceptions from 2014 to 2017 but not huge hits. The ones I want immediately and better get that are still pending are as follows but I don’t think the 3 of Kobe’s will be now available as I’m guaranteed they were on card autos. 2x Kobe autos, Steph curry auto, Steph curry \5, 2x James harden autos, 3x Kevin Durant autos and a Lebron/kobe dual auto \5.

    No reply, no follow ups, no comment or anything from panini and I have been spamming their emails and customer service lines….

    Nothing…

  51. I have over 35 open with panini and no response for years. I’m waiting on 2013 playbook eli Manning auto /5 since 2015 16-17 grand reserve jaylen brown /99 and Spectra /300 since then. 16-17 dejounte Murray silhouette /99 since then. 2012-13 timeless Kevin Durant /25 and just to name a few last but not least 13-14 preferred Stephen curry auto /35 and again no help no communication nothing.

  52. I have read through and count myself lucky I got my Kobe 17-18 Absolute Determination II Auto /15. That took about 8 months and got it back 2 months before he passed. I’m waiting on a 18-19 Revolution Auto Donovan Mitchell for 3 years now. I understand now that’s not long compared to others. It’s the only way I think I’ll ever get an on card auto of this player and am having a tough time accepting the inevitable. I figured it’s a player issue because I haven’t seen any of these cards listed at all. However, he’s signed many other cards so I am disappointed in Panini’s lack of a legit backup plan.

  53. Waiting on 2019-2020 Giannis Immaculate #/3 Patch Auto for over a year now. Multiple emails to CS but to no avail, no response or whatever. Even tried to just settle for something in same value but no response.

  54. How do I join the lawsuit? I have 3 redemptions that I followed their rules to redeem, redeemed them on time. 3 from 2018, it’s going on 5 year’s. Panini customer service has promised me a white box, but they would have someone call me back about white box options… I know better on that. Now, I can’t even get ahold of them, it just goes to a message machine.

  55. I am having the same issue. I have redemptions from 2011 and just 2 Jimmy butler redemptions and xrc redemptions from draft class.. I have a easy 50 redemptions on file that have not been redeemed. No response no redemptions.. Crazy

      • I hear you Michael… we have cards that have been there for years as well… one thing I can guarantee you is we will get justice but it may take some time. If Panini does not change the way they operate they will lose a class action …. eventually… but I predict either panini does the right thing or the new company coming in will… one thing about panini… we don’t 100% blame them as I THINK they do their best to get the players to sign the cards but some may let them sit. One tip is if you have a current player who is active and you waiting on his auto, write to the owner of the team i.e. Luka = write to Cuban. It has worked for us before… no guarantees though – ciao

  56. john must be paid by panini to defend them. panini is a joke, even if there are things out if their control they should atleast response to customers. i have a beem waiting over a year and finally it was sent to the wrong address. i tries getting in touch just so I can notify that it was sent to the wrong address but I can’t even get in contact with them they are a joke.
    Also when they say that sometimes to players don’t find the cords how about you not produce the auto card if theres no signature plain and simple.
