Who is Mickey Mantle?

The Mick was a professional Major League Baseball player for the New York Yankees from 1951 to 1968, the Yankees were the only team Mantle played for.

Mantle made his MLB debut on 4/17/51 against the Boston Red Sox and went 1 for 4 with 1 RBI.

Mantle was one of the greatest offensive threats in the history of the league slugging 536 home runs and batted in 1509 runs to go along with a mind-blowing .298 lifetime average through his 18-year career.

He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974.

The legendary 1952 Topps baseball card set is considered the most popular sports card set of all-time. Designed by Woody Gelman and Sy Berger on the kitchen table of Berger’s apartment on Alabama Avenue in Brooklyn… little did the know this set of cards would be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in the next century.
