Justin Herbert (3/10/1998) was drafted by the San Deigo Chargers with the 6th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Playing college ball at Oregon he appears to be the typical NFL QB standing at 6’6″ and tipping the scales at 236lb (198cm, 107kg).
The 2020 NFL Draft was absolutely stacked at the quarterback position as Herbert was already the 3rd QB taken by the time he was selected with the 6th overall pick.
Joe Burrow (who is also having a hell of a rookie season) was selected with the number one pick by the Bengals and Tua Tagovalio was 5th overall to the Miami Dolphins.
Great Long-Term Investments?
The 2020 NFL Draft may go down as one of the best we have seen in a long, LONG time for the quarterback position… although we personally don’t see Tua being all that and a bag of chips BUT Burrow/Herbert could be the next Tom Brady/Peyton Manning… wouldn’t that be a dream come true… #DRIP2DREAM.
Best Justin Herbert Rookie Cards
Let’s take a look at the top-rated Herbert RCs for investment purposes (we will update this page as more RCs are released throughout the season).
2020 Justin Herbert Panini Prizm RC #325
The Justin Herbert Panini Prizm football card might just be one of the hottest cards of 2021 with a ton of potential (and prices are reflecting that).
The card shown above is a 2020 Panini Red Shimmer Prizm Justin Herbert rookie card numbered #325 (/35) which sold for an impressive $3,900 on 12/28/2020 via eBay auctions. The Gold Vinyl version of this card sold for a whopping $16,827 on 12/22/2020 again via eBay auctions.
2020 Justin Herbert Prizm SSP Color Blast RC #14
If Justin Herbert goes on to be a Hall of Fame, Super Bowl-winning QB this card will without a doubt be one of the most valuable of all of his rookie cards.
Trending: Top Trevor Lawrence Rookie Cards
Words cannot describe the sheer beauty of this card… the only Justin Herbert rookie card we MIGHT rather have over the Color Blast is a high-end Prizm (like the Red Shimmer shown above… but who are we kidding the Justin Herbert Color Blast rookie card is number 1!).
2020 Justin Herbert Panini Fusion Mosaic Prizm Auto RC #4
We were never big on Panini Mosaic football cards… keyword being was. This year they have produced a very nice-looking set and hit a home run with some of the high-end parallels (i.e. look no further than the card picture above #DRIPCITY).
“Tossing 4 TD passes on MNF vs the Saints Justin Herbert is quickly gaining traction as one of the NFL’s most promising young quarterbacks”
If Herbert develops into an elite QB, wins a few league MVPs, and a Superbowl or three the 2020 Herbert Panini Mosaic Absolute Fusion will be one of his more valuable rookie cards… cheers!
2020 Justin Herbert Panini Absolute Kaboom RC #K-JH2
We love Panini Kaboom cards and we especially love the 2020 Justin Herbert Panini Absolute Kaboom Rookie Card #K-JH2. The card shows Herbert rolling out to his left while looking to get off a pass or maybe keep it and run for his life.
His name is slabbed in the bottom right-hand corner while the word KABOOM! is placed towards to top center and is in red color… the Panini RC logo sits in the top right-hand corner… a great card for moderate investors.

2020 Justin Herbert Panini Absolute RC #167
Here is a GREAT card for kids or collectors looking to spend the least amount of money possible but still get a dang good investment.
Numbered #167 the 2020 Panini Absolute Herbert rookie card shows him rolling out to his right while looking for his tight end on a classic roll-out pattern.
The card places the Charges logo in the top right corner, the famous Panini RC logo in the top left, and the words “Absolute Football” in the bottom left corner. These are great-looking cards and should hold up fairly well to grading (like Bowman Chrome in baseball).
“The base card is very affordable while some of the high-end parallels can get very expensive especially if graded”
2020 Justin Herbert Panini Absolute Parallels: Red /100, Orange /75, Blue /50, Green /25, Gold /10, Purple /5, Black 1/1… Retail Parallels: Blue, Green, Yellow, Red Squares /199, Orange Mosaic /149, Blue Diamonds /75, Green Waves /35, Gold Stars /10, Purple Rain /5, Black Galaxy 1/1
2020 Justin Herbert Panini Select Prizm XRC ’20 RC #325 #303
Here is another solid (and expensive) Herbert autograph rookie card from Panini. The Panini Select Justin Herbert rookie card comes in the form of the 2020 XRC Prizm Redemption RC #303 and 2020 XRC Mystery Autograph Prizm Redemption RC #325.
The card shows Herbert in that badass sky powder blue San Deigo Chargers looking to connect with a wideout deep down the field. The team name and his name are centered at the bottom and the auto is just above them.
Have your eyes set on this card? Better have some deep pockets as it gets well into the 4 digits.
2020 Panini Select Prizm Parallels XRC: Tie-Dye #/25, Gold #/10, Black 1/1
2020 Justin Herbert Panini Origins RC #RA-JH
Panini Origins have been extremely popular with collectors in the hobby over the last few years and the 2020 Panini Origins Justin Herbert rookie card does not disappoint.
Numbered#RAJH the card shows Herbert looking downfield searching for an open receiver. His name and the team name are centered at the bottom while his sweet autograph is just above the name/team name… the word Origins is printed at the center top… good looking good and another that is ideal for moderate investors.
2020 Justin Herbert Donruss Optic Rookie RC #303
The final card on our list is the 2020 Donruss Optic Preview Rated Rookie Card. Numbered #303 the card shows Herbert rolling out to his right looking for the running back sprinting out of the backfield (old school Madden Football play) in the San Diego White Jersey.
The classic Donruss “Rated Rookie” icon is in the top left-hand corner while the Donruss Optic Logo houses the bottom right.
The card is available in a variety of parallels. A great card for small to moderate bankrolls/investors.

“The 22-year-old rising star has already proven the draft doubters wrong and he shows no signs of stopping. Move over Burrow, Herbert is the NFL’s next star.” – Lindsey Wisniewski (@lindsniewski)
The NFL’s next great star is certainly not unreasonable BUT once Mr. Burrow gets some weapons we might see a couple of years of 50 or more TDs from him… Herbert vs Burrow for the next 10 years or so sounds like my kind of party.
Justin Herbert Rookie Card Value
The most expensive Herbert rookie card released to date is the Panini Select Prizm XRC and the 2020 Panini NFL Shields RCs (Gold, Black) BUT the Contenders and National Treasures sets will not come out for a few more months (most likely March, April 2021).
