Javier Baez was born on 12/2/1992 and was lucky enough to be drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 1st round (9th) of the 2011 MLB June Amateur Draft (he was a major piece in bringing Cub fans their first World Series win in 2016).

Baez is Puerto Rican and can play shortstop or second base and is a hitting machine (Baez won the Silver Slugger Award 2018).

The base card will not cost, much (especially ungraded) but the refractors can get extremely pricey (but these are the ones we like!)

Base, Refractors, Prism Refractors, Purple Refractors, Blue Refractors, Green Refractors, Gold Refractors (#/50), hobby-only Orange Refractors (#/25), Red Refractors (#/5) and Superfractors (1/1). Best Javier Baez Rookie Card: 2011 Bowman Chrome RC

For whatever reason, his popularity among baseball card buyers is fairly strong as he is one of the most searched players (popular cards? Stan Musial Baseball Cards) according to Google Trends.

The one problem he has is his strikeout rate. As we mentioned he needs to cut down on Ks in order to truly become one of the league’s best players. We’re just not sure he can do that and for that reason, we are taking a wait and see approach going into 2021.
