Bregman has been with the Astros since 2016 and made the All-Star team in 2018 and 2019. Here’s a list with five of his most popular rookie cards, as well as investment advice for anyone hoping to pick up a couple in the near future.

2010 Bowman Chrome USA Gold Refractor Alex Bregman (buy on eBay)

Bregman’s 2010 Bowman Chrome card is fairly rare, showing off the player with shiny stars and stripes in the background. There’s a small signature found along the bottom and a 1st Bowman Chrome Card logo on the top-right hand side.

You can see the difference in his signature compared to the later cards on this list, but it’s understandable given he was only sixteen at the time! The back has a paragraph detailing his impressive junior career, as well as his family connections to baseball through his father and grandfather.

A BGS 10 graded Gold version recently sold for $1,650 at auction, although a 9.5 can be had for $300-$400.

2011 Alex Bregman Bowman Chrome Refractor (buy on eBay)

A more traditional card, this one features Bregman posing for the camera with bat in hand. The value will vary widely depending on the condition and if it’s a parallel. For example, a Blue BGS 9.5 recently sold for $250, while an Orange 9.5 went for over $700.

The reverse has a scouting report, which notes his USA Baseball Player of the Year award in 2010, as well as MVP accolades from his junior days.

Overall, it’s a great entry-level option if you really want to pick up one of his earlier rookie cards.

2016 Bowman Chrome Refractor Alex Bregman (buy on eBay)

A great card if you’re interested in special refractor editions, BGS 9.5 Purple and Blue versions have recently sold for $500 and $300 respectively.

There’s an image of Bregman standing ready to bat on the front of the card, along with a Bowman 1st logo in the top-left corner. There’s a fairly large signature at the bottom, and it’s a good option if you want an earlier card that won’t break the bank.

The reverse contains his 2015 minor league batting records, as well as listing his skills, resume and additional personal info.

2017 Topps Chrome Alex Bregman (shop on eBay)

If you’re on the lookout for a more affordable option, the 2017 Topps Chrome version can be found for $100-$200. The base card shows Bregman admiring a clean hit, and there are a signature and an RC logo located on the front.

The reverse has everything from his minor league batting record to his social media handles, as well as info about a memorable performance in 2016. It’s the cheapest option on our list, and it’s not a bad price for a signed rookie card. However, they do tend to attract a lot of bids, so you’ll probably have to fight for a copy at auction.

2017 Topps Heritage Clubhouse Alex Bregman

If you’re after something a little different, the 2017 Topps Clubhouse card is a landscape edition with an autograph and an image of the player in the top third, alongside a game-used patch.

There’s nothing of interest to be found on the back, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t highly valued by collectors.

A gem mint version recently sold for $338 dollars, showing there’s a decent market for most signed Bregman memorabilia, especially if there’s an autograph or a player patch to boost interest at auction.

Alex Bregman Investment Outlook:

Some players don’t have a traditional route to the top, and Bregman is no different.

He originally missed out as a projected first-round draft pick after shattering the second knuckle on his throwing hand in the fifth game of his high school senior season, but he was always destined for greatness in the sport.

He ended up attending LSU instead-but managed to reach the big leagues with ease. In more recent years, he was named in the All-Decade Team by D1Baseball.com, showing just how important he is for the Astros, and where he ranks in the current standings.

There’s clearly a lot of interest in his collection no matter the year, although the sheer amount of enticing rookie cards does work to dilute prices to some extent.

However, if he continues to hit doubles like it’s the easiest thing in the world, prices are only going to go one way.

Investment Outlook: STRONG BUY

  1. Where is the list of Alex Bregman rookie cards? You have one for other players so why not Bregman? Living in Houston I am a huge Bregman fan. I do agree that he is a strong buy.
