With a range of pop-culture icons that complement the sporting contingent, the 2020 A&G set has a lot of potentials. You’ll find a large range of subsets and parallels featuring some of the biggest stars of today, as well as signatures and distinctive Rip cards.
There are autos for a number of major names, and that includes the non-baseball cards found in the set. In fact, they can often be some of the more expensive versions overall, as it’s not like they’re going to have many options that appear in future releases.

Overall, it’s not a bad set by any means, even if they don’t have the best collection of premium cards to choose from.
2020 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball – Info
The Allen and Ginter tobacco brand created and marketed the first cigarette cards for collecting and trading in the United States, way back in the 1880s. Topps revived the brand in 2006 but decided to stick with a vintage look and feel.
The first 300 cards are standard base options with the final 50 cards in the overall 350-card set being short prints.

Inserts appear in full-size and mini varieties. A Debut to Remember looks at the first game for 30 major players, Field Generals focuses on 20 all-time great catchers, and Longball Lore is for the batters.
Rip cards are probably the most interesting option overall, with 100 serial-numbered options in total which showcase a player on the outside and a mystery mini card on the inside. You’ll have to choose whether to rip them open or not, which can be difficult depending on who’s on the outside.
If you do take the risk, you’ll find Mini Exclusives, which are seen as an extension of the base set, numbered from #351 to #400.
2020 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball – Parallel Guide
Parallels can make or break a set, as pricing and popularity will depend on collectors aiming to chase the rainbow. The base cards have just two parallels, in the form of Silver Portraits, or Glossy one-of-one versions.
Base Mini Parallels: Base Mini, Black Bordered, No Number (/50), Brooklyn Back (/25), Gold Bordered, Wood (1/1), Glossy (1/1), Framed Mini Printing Plate (1/1)

2020 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball – Investment Outlook
A set that contains a number of hits, lots of autos, and cards within cards; the 2020 A&G set is definitely one to watch if you’re on the lookout for low to mid-range investment options.

In terms of baseball cards, there are numerous one-of-ones which are some of the more expensive options to sell so far. Unripped cards are also tempting, as you never know what’s inside, and could feature anyone from Mike Trout to Babe Ruth. It’s going to be hard not to crack them open, which is pretty much the point.
However, they could be worth far more in the future if they’re left untouched.
Unsurprisingly, celebs like Danny McBride and Jeong are some of the more popular cards from the set and look to be some of the better investment pieces overall. They’re rare and interesting, and there’s enough of mainstream interest in the cards to make a difference compared to the niche audience found with collectible cards.
