With a primary focus on prospects and a strong emphasis on chrome offerings, the 2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball set is excellent if you’re interested in the latest MLB up-and-comers.

It’s the second batch of top prospects and rookies, following on from the main 2020 Bowman Baseball set from earlier in the year.

Here’s everything you need to know about the best 2020 Bowman Chrome cards, from a review of the set to 10 top cards to keep an eye out for.

2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball: Review

There are 100 cards in the base set, with a mix of vets and rookies. There’s also a collection of 100 Chrome Prospect Autographs and Chrome Rookie Autographs, which make for some of the most valuable cards from the set.

As a flagship release with a ton of brand appeal, the Bowman set is usually one of the year’s biggest of the year; Much depends on the quality of the rookie and prospect class, which we’ll get into individually below.

2020 looks like a decent year for young stars, with several options that already sell for decent figures. Most cards benefit from hard signatures, while the Refractor parallels tend to be some of the more expensive RCs in later years.

Top 10 Cards

We’ve created a list of 10 top cards from the 2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball set. As you might have guessed, there’s a strong showing from the prospects who dominate the list.

2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball Luis Robert RC #8

(buy on eBay)

White Sox outfielder Luis Robert is first on the list, following a strong start to life in MLB in 2020. From the base set, this is a simple RC that features an action shot of Robert as he stands on the plate. Refractor parallels have a serial number found on the front, changing the background and chrome border color.

2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball Jasson Dominguez #BCP-243

(buy on eBay)

Jasson Dominguez is another hot prospect in 2020, and his cards are some of the most valuable overall when looking at this set. Parallels of his Chrome Prospect card will already sell for four figures, and they’re available in a range of colored Refractors. He’s one to keep tabs on.

2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball Robert Puason #BCP-173

From the Bowman Chrome Baseball Prospects set, Robert Puason’s card is another great option if you’re looking for valuable young stars from the collection. Puason is rivaled only by Jasson Dominguez in terms of being the top-rated international prospect in MLB for 2020. As such, his hard-signed card is one of the best from the set, featuring a simple action shot of the player as he catches a ball in one hand.

2020 Bowman Chrome Dawn of Glory Adley Rutschman #DGA-AR

The Dawn of Glory insert set has ten players, with one star selected from each team. Adley Rutschman has been chosen from the Baltimore Orioles, shown in a posed profile shot with a bat slung over one shoulder. The base edition is numbered to 75 copies, while there are only two parallels to look out for.

2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball Kyle Lewis #CRA-KL

Kyle Lewis is an outfielder promoted to the major leagues in 2019 by the Seattle Mariners. His Chrome Prospects card is one of the cheaper options on the list, featuring an action shot of the player as he waits in a batting stance. You’ll also find a small RC logo in the top left corner, so there’s significant interest in the rarer parallels.

2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball Eric Pena #CPA-EPE

As a teenager signed in July 2019, Erick Pena jumped from the number 23 prospect in the KC Royals system to 5th in roughly half a year. He’s still young and needs at least a few years of development, but his signed prospect card is another interesting option from the set. Pena is in the middle, with his arms stretching beyond the border. It’s his 1st Bowman card, and he has left a childlike signature at the bottom.

2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball Bobby Witt Jr. #CPA-BWJ

Bobby Witt Jr. is among the more popular young prospects from the set, having been picked second overall in the 2019 MLB draft. The interest has translated to the price of his prospect card, which shows him making a catch under the Bowman Chrome logo.

2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball Chris Gittens #CPA-CG

Chris Gittens is a seasoned prospect for the New York Yankees, drafted in the twelfth round back in 2014. One of the cheaper options to make a list, this signed card features an image of Gittens as he stands in a batting stance.

2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball Luisangel Acuna #CPA-LA

Another CPA featuring a strong prospect, Luisangel Acuna is the younger brother of Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr. If he’s half as talented, a signed prospect card could be a great investment piece for obvious reasons. Collectors and investors seem to agree, with rarer parallels selling in the four-figure range.

2020 Bowman Chrome Baseball Jarren Duran #CPA-JD

Jarren Duran is the final player to make a list, with another card from the Chrome Prospect Autos subset. Duran is pictured as he sprints with a bat in one hand, which stretches out past the border on the right-hand side. It has a 1st Bowman logo in the top left, and an on-card auto-filled in blue ink at the bottom. As always, there’s a large range of parallels that come with serial numbers on the front.
