With a suggested price tag of $1,000 per hobby box, it’s clearly geared towards serious collectors, even if it’s not the highest of high-end when it comes to NBA sets.

Here’s everything you could possibly need to know about the 2019-2020 Panini Opulence release, from general info to a detailed parallel guide and investment advice.

It’s clear that the set has been a massive hit with collectors so far, helping to boost prices thanks to increased interest at auction. The booklets also offer something slightly different, as they open up to span two panels.

The increased space leads to less cluttered design, allowing for larger patches and signatures as they aren’t competing for space. It’s helped in no small part by a strong rookie class, as well as a number of established vets.

Zion Williamson has a range of cards and booklets that are some of the most prized options so far, with his RPA selling for a significant four-figure fee.

2019-20 Panini Opulence Basketball Investment Outlook

Investment Rating: Strong Buy (4.4)

Ownership Disclosure: One (1) Unopen Hobby Box

It’s always going to be a bit of a gamble considering that it’s a newer release, but the future looks bright for a set packed with premium options.

The majority of cards are serial-numbered, while rare parallels are already beginning to pick up in price as collectors get on board with the booklets and signed cards.

Trending: Rare Baseball Cards That Are Worth A Fortune

As we’ve mentioned, Zion Williamson cards are some of the most popular so far, especially when looking at potential investment options for the future.

As every auto is hard-signed, and each card is limited to 99 or fewer serially numbered copies, it’s easy to see how prices could start to rise, especially for the RCs and Gold versions especially.

We think that the 2019-20 Panini Opulence set contains some great investment options, although you will have to pay a significant amount if you’re hoping to flip one of the rarer options in the short-term.

They could also be held, if you’re willing to wait and see how the next few seasons turn out for some of the valuable rookies such as Williamson or any of the others found on the Octo Signature Booklet.
