1. 2018 Bowman Chrome Shohei Ohtani Rookie Autographs Refractor (Pitching) #CRAS

Shohei Ohtani, the 2018 American League Rookie of the Year, claims the most valuable card from 2018 Bowman Chrome.

The highly distinguished card features Ohtani on the mound, where he has recorded an overall ERA of 3.53 through three MLB seasons.

Trending: Tyler Glasnow 2013 Bowman Chrome Prospect Card

After posting a 3.18 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP while striking out 156 batters over 130.1 innings, crushing 40 home runs, driving in 100 RBIs, and stealing 26 bases, the two-way generational athlete is a near-lock for the 2021 American League MVP.

Ohtani’s 2018 Bowman Chrome Orange Refractor is extremely limited, serial-numbered to only 25 cards. Ohtani’s iconic card received a BGS 9.5 for the card’s condition and a BGS 10 for the quality of the autograph.

On July 10, 2020, a collector purchased Ohtani’s 2018 Bowman Chrome card through Goldin Auctions for a whopping $145,200.

As Ohtani put together a remarkable season on the mound and the plate, his 2018 Bowman Chrome Autographed Orange Refractor rookie card is a sound investment.

2. 2018 Bowman Chrome Luis Robert Prospect Auto (Refractor) #CPALR

Finishing second for the 2020 AL Rookie of the Year Award, Luis Robert is the future of MLB.

In his rookie season shortened by the pandemic, Robert hit 11 home runs, recorded 31 RBIs, and registered eight doubles in just 56 games.

In his sophomore campaign riddled with injuries, Robert had a similar stat line with 13 home runs and 43 RBIs through 68 games.

However, he registered 22 doubles in 2021 and significantly increased his batting average from .233 in his rookie year to .338 in his second season.

As the second most valuable card from 2018 Bowman Chrome, Luis Robert’s Prospect Autos Red Refractors card is serial-numbered to just five.

After obtaining a BGS 9.5 for the card, and BGS 10 for the autograph, a collector ultimately purchased the highly sought-after card through Goldin Auctions on January 31, 2021, for $134,400.

#3. 2018 Bowman Chrome Shohei Ohtani Rookie Autographs Refractor (Batting) #BCRASO

This particular Shohei Ohtani rookie card from 2018 Bowman Chrome illustrates Ohtani at the plate, where he was exceptional as a rookie.

In his 2018 rookie season, Ohtani hit 22 home runs, drove in 66 RBIs, and stole 10 bases while logging a .285 batting average and a remarkable .564 slugging percentage through 104 games.

If that wasn’t enough, Ohtani also started 10 games for the Angels, with a 3.31 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 63 strikeouts through 51.2 innings en route to capturing the AL Rookie of the Year.

Like Ohtani’s most valuable card discussed earlier that features him on the mound, this variation is also serial-numbered to 25, though it illustrates Ohtani at the plate.

The memorable card follows the grading trend thus far, receiving a BGS 9.5 for the card and a BGS 10 for Ohtani’s autograph. Ohtani’s Rookie Autographs Orange Refractor card was sold by Goldin Auctions on August 9, 2021, for $92,400.

#4. 2018 Bowman Chrome Luis Robert Prospect Auto (Includes SuperFractor) #CPALR

Referencing to Luis Robert’s rookie season, he registered 47 hits through 56 games and struck out 73 times.

However, Robert reached another level in the 2021 season, recording 93 hits through 68 games and striking out only 61 times in 68 games.

He also increased his slugging percentage from .436 in the 2020 season to .567 in his sophomore campaign.

Luis Robert’s 2018 Bowman Chrome SuperFractor card is serial-numbered 1/1 and will forever be the only copy of the card. Robert’s SuperFractor also received a BGS 9.5 for the card’s condition and a BGS 10 for Robert’s autograph.

Before making his major league debut, a collector acquired Robert’s card on August 10, 2019 through Goldin Auctions for $50,400.

#5. 2018 Bowman Chrome Vladimir Guerrero Jr. AUTO (Refractor) RC #BCP150

Vlad Guerrero Jr. made his major league debut with the Toronto Blue Jays on April 26, 2019. Through 123 games in his rookie season, Vlad Jr. had 15 home runs, 16 RBIs behind a .272 batting average, good for 6th most votes for the AL Rookie of the Year Award.

In the 2021 season, Vlad Jr. took the league by storm behind 48 home runs, 111 RBIs, and 123 runs scored, on top of a .311 batting average.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s 2018 Bowman Chrome SuperFractor is serial-numbered 1/1. Guerrero’s SuperFractor card received a BGS 9 for centering, 9 for corners, 10 for edges, and 9.5 for the card’s surface, with an overall grade of a BGS 9.
